I think I'm losing my marbles. I just made myself a cup of tea and, as I was standing by the kettle, waiting for it to boil, I put a teaspoon of sugar in my cup, then the teabag, and then I very nearly put in a spoonful of coffee too! WTF!!!?? I don't even drink coffee!
Anyhoo, aside from that, things are fairly quiet in the contented house. The kids are back at school and I have plans to blitz the house and try and organise the mountains of clutter that are building up everywhere. Seriously, you do not want to see what my sideboard looks like! Or maybe you do? Okay, in the interests of "keeping it real" here it is:-
Yikes! Something really needs to be done!
In crafty news, there has been a little bit of sewing going on. Yesterday I made a little felt birdie as a hanging ornament for a custom order and today I've been having a little play at the sewing machine, trying out the "quilt as you go" method (as seen on the sew take a hike blog).
I really like this quite intensively quilted look, so I will probably be adding to this and turning it into another mini quilt.
And on that subject, I'm very excited that I've got a place on round 9 of the Doll Quilt Swap! This is a hugely popular swap on Flickr, and there are 200 participants for this round! I'm also feeling pretty nervous about it too - there have been some absolutely phenomenal quilts in the previous rounds. Luckily the deadline isn't til September, so I will have plenty of time to come up with ideas. This will also be the first time I've participated in a secret swap, so I'm quite looking forward to the prospect of "stalking" my partner ;)
