Yesterday I received my parcel of goodies from Lorraine of The Balancing Kiwi for the Green Swap, which was arranged by myself and Emma over at our That Little Bit Greener blog. The postman was keeping me in suspense with this one! The parcel originally turned up on Tuesday but went back to the sorting office as I was out, so I had to arrange re-delivery and it didn't turn up til about 3 o'clock yesterday! But it was definitely worth waiting for!
The rules for this swap were simple - everything had to fit in with the "green" theme, so organic, recycled, repurposed, you get the picture. Lorraine had definitely done her homework and sent me a fab bundle of goodies.
Oops! Didn't realise that pic was so blurry, sorry 'bout that! Anyway, Lorraine sent me a "pre-loved" book, a jam jar of buttons, a pin cushion made from vintage materials, a lovely pot holder, a recipe for carrot cake, a little pot of sweet pea seeds (from her own garden, and the pot was an old film canister!), a lovely crocheted washcloth, a fab bag made from an old pair of jeans, and a beautiful china teacup & saucer with a candle inside.
Lorraine also sent a letter explaining the green "credentials" of each item, and a lovely homemade notecard featuring our TLBG logo!
Thank you so much Lorraine, for all your wonderful gifts! We were obviously on the same wavelength as we both sent each other a book, seeds, buttons and recipes! If you want to see what I sent to Lorraine then pop over to her post here. I actually found this swap quite a challenge, I think my crafting is definitely an area that could do with some "greening up" but, hopefully, this swap has given me a few more ideas for the future.
