They're not really patchwork, of course. I'm just calling them that as I'm using up all the little odd balls of wool I have left over from making other socks. I've never quite been able to get it right when knitting socks - I do use the trick of weighing the ball of yarn when I'm at the end of the first sock to make sure I've got enough for the second but, until you actually get to that point, you can't tell if you've made the sock too long or not long enough. I obviously have been erring on the side of caution as I always have yarn left over, sometimes it almost looks enough to make another whole sock! So, in the spirit of using what you have, I am using up all those odd bits and knitting some odd socks!
This is the first one, and it starts off with Colinette Jitterbug in Ayshia, then at the heel turns into Jitterbug in Kingfisher, and I've just changed over to some Opal yarn in a Harry Potter colourway and, luckily, the colours are all blending into one another quite nicely!
I wonder if the next one will be quite so harmonious?
