I've done an A-Z before, (pause while I go and look up the link - ah, here it is!) but that was all about my crafting likes/dislikes, so when I spotted this one I thought it looked like fun and decided to have a go too.
A - Age: *whispers it* - 41
B - Bed size - just a regular double (4'6")
C - Chore you dislike - cleaning the loo or oven
D - Dogs - No, unfortunately. We are a dog loving household and Joe absolutely ADORES them (we have to stop and stroke practically every dog that we meet) - I am trying to persuade P to let us have a dog as I think it would be so good for Joe but, so far, he is sticking to his guns and saying no. :-(
E - Essential start to the day - breakfast! I know some people say they can't face eating first thing in the morning but I can't function without it! I'd even go so far as to say it's my favourite meal of the day.
F - Favourite colour - Pink (no surprises there then?)
G - Gold or silver - Silver. When I was younger I preferred gold, but I realised that silver works better with my colouring. I think the only gold I wear on a regular basis is my wedding ring
H - Height - 5'4"
I - Instruments you play(ed) - I did recorder at primary school and also violin for a little while, can't remember any of it now though. I wish I could play the piano. (I'm not too bad at Guitar Hero though!)
J - Job title - Domestic Goddess, Stay-at-home-mom or general layabout, take your pick (I am definitely not a housewife though!)
K - Kids - Two gorgeous boys, Will (13) and Joe (8)
L - Live - In West Kent, in the South East of England
M - Mum's name - Patricia
N - Nicknames - My brothers used to call me "Small" for a while when I was (alot!) younger, and one of my penfriends gave me the nickname "Theo" when I told her I didn't have one.
O - Overnight hospital stays - hmm, not actually sure of the exact no of nights - I had my tonsils out when I was 18 (in for several nights I think), wisdom teeth out when I was 19 but that may have been an in-and-out-same-day job, I was in for a whole week when I had William but only one night after having Joe (although both labours went right through the night so you could add on two more). I also stayed in for one night with Will when he had his adenoids out.
P - Pet peeves - Husband not stacking the dishes for washing up properly
Q - Quote from a movie - "Life moves pretty fast, if you don't stop and look around once in a while, you're gonna miss it" Ferris Beuller's Day Off
R - Righty or lefty - Right
S - Siblings - Two older brothers
T - Time you wake up - On a school day the alarm goes off at 6:45, at the weekend though, I usually wake around 8.30
U - Underwear - M&S
V - Veg you don't like - Honestly, it would be quicker to tell you the veg I do like. If it's green the chances are I don't like it.
W - What makes you run late - I am very rarely late for anything as I inherited from my mom a very strong instinct to always be ready with plenty of time to spare. Even if things go a bit pearshaped in the morning, we can usually still make it on time.
X - X-rays you've had - Numerous dental x-rays over the years, plus I had my hips x-rayed in my early twenties (little bit of back story - I had clicky hips as a baby and when I was in my late teens they started playing up again, clicking at inoportune moments, aching if I stood up for too long etc, so I got them checked out. The x-ray didn't find anything so I just had to put up with it. Funnily though, after having two babies they are much better, although they still click and ache at inoportune moments!)
Y - Yummy food you make - Well, I do like to bake, as I'm sure you all know, so I would say that I do make some rather yummy cakes!
Z - Zoo favourites - My favourites at the last zoo we went to were probably the meerkats, but I think my alltime faves would be the dolphins and manatees that I saw at Seaworld in Florida in 1996.
Do let me know if you decide to play along too!
