On Friday morning I walked into town to post my Brit Quilt Swap parcel and when I got back home there was one of those cards from the postman saying that they'd been unable to deliver a parcel. Of course, I knew it would be the quilt from my secret partner, as I wasn't expecting anything else! I was a bit cross. The card was marked 8.30am - normally our post doesn't arrive until at least 11am, and it has been as late as 6pm on some days! Anyway, I had to be patient all day until Peter got home from work and I could drive up to the depot to collect my parcel. I was so excited that I opened the outer parcel in the car and looked at the card to see who it was from, but I couldn't remember which quilt she had made! Once home I just about remembered to take a pic of the parcels all beautifully wrapped up before I ripped into them!
And here is the amazing quilt that Kelly (aka Chunky09) made for me. Isn't it beautiful? I absolutely love it! It's called Eye Candy and the colours are so bright and juicy, they really sing out against the black background. I really had no idea that Kelly was making this quilt for me so it was a lovely surprise when I opened the package. Kelly also included some yummy Green&Blacks chocolate (all gone now - no surprises there!) and a gorgeous charm pack of Moda Sugar Pop fabrics, which I can't wait to start playing with.
I think this will be the perfect thing to help kickstart my sewing again - I'm thinking a nice little project just using the whole pack, maybe some more half square triangles, or possibly something a little more random? Ideas, people, please? Anyway, thank you, thank you again Kelly! I had such fun with this swap, even if I did miss out on the last couple of weeks. I'm sure there will be another round, possibly in the autumn, and it's a really great group so do check it out if you fancy joining in.
Ooh! I almost forgot to tell you! The quilt I made for the swap went to Jan of Isisjem and, happily, she loved it too and wrote a really lovely thank you and blogpost about it, which I really appreciated. Happy smiles all round!
