Rhonda has posted the next part of the quilt along here and she covers preparing your backing and batting, and the layering/basting process. This is my least favourite part of quilt making! I haven't actually made a large quilt for quite some time, but I find that basting spray is perfect for small quilts - anything up to the size of a baby quilt really. I use the 505 brand (which you can find at Cottonpatch in the UK) and have not experienced any problems with it gumming up the needle.
There's still time to join the quilt along - you can join the Flickr group by clicking on the button in my sidebar (and there is a rumour there may be some prizes on offer too!) The next part coming up in a couple of weeks will be Rhonda's Free Motion Quilting tutorial - I can't wait (Just hope I can get my machine all serviced and home again in time!)
