Oops. Somehow a whole week has slipped by since my last post. I haven't meant to be absent, but sometimes life just gets in the way, or you just don't feel like blogging. I'm still here though! I've been in a bit of a grump about some stuff going on at school (nothing to do with Joe, I won't bore you with it all though) and the sewing that I have managed to do I can't show as it is for Christmas, so there hasn't been a lot to share. I am starting to feel in the festive mood though - although our decorations won't go up for another week or so yet I've really enjoyed seeing everyone elses appearing on pinterest or in blogland. I have nearly finished all my Christmas shopping (I'm off for one last trip tomorrow) so that will be a weight off my mind too. I just realised that I don't think I showed you my finished piece that I made for the Duo Quilt Along. I made a table topper for the coffee table where we put our Christmas tree - the last couple of years it's been covered with a cheap but cheerful red fleece blanket from Ikea, but I have been saying that I would make a little quilt specially, and now I have!
I do so like making this kind of sized quilt, there is a real danger that, by this time next year, every surface in the house might be covered with them! Although, I have been thinking a little about next year and have decided on some crafty "resolutions".
The main one is to be more thrifty - in other words, back on the fabric diet, use up the fabric that I have and especially the scraps, which seem to be breeding at an alarming rate. I might make up some scrap bags to sell but I think a scrappy quilt is in the offing too. Maybe I will even get my butt in gear and manage to make some stuff to sell... We shall see.
Hopefully I'll have something a bit more interesting to share with you next time!
