*Sigh* Snippets are about all I can manage, I am feeling seriously out of touch with blogland at the moment, it's so hard to keep up! But I know that it's not a race or a competition, just that our pace of life has changed, and so my relationship with blogland has changed too. But enough of that, what have we been up to?
* Well, the new token system has been working - kind of. Some days Joe will sit down and just get on and do it, no messing about, and other days it's a bit more of a struggle. I am trying to get him to do his handwriting and maths "drills" (for want of a better word) at the beginning of the day, before we move on to other stuff, but maybe I need to change that? If I wait until he actually asks for computer game time and I then remind him about having to earn a token, he is probably more likely to get it done straight away, so I might give that a go next week.
* We have discovered the joys of Brainpop - an educational site where you can watch short cartoons about, well, almost any subject you can think of, to be honest! Joe loves it and will sit and watch film after film. These little, short snippets of information work really well for him, although it may seem very disjointed when he watches a film about oceans followed by one about bacteria and then one about computer viruses, but he remembers everything!
* I made a dinosaur. Joe requested a cuddly dinosaur one day and after a quick search on pinterest I found a pattern, some spare fleece and half an hour or so later, hey presto!
* Today we went to Groombridge Place and the Enchanted forest with some of our home-ed group. We practically had the place to ourselves (love it when that happens) and the kids had a great time discovering all the secret places in the forest.
Have a great weekend.
