Not me, thank goodness, but one of my quilts! I was snuggled up under the Heathers quilt on the sofa with J on Tuesday night, when I noticed a little hole in one of the diagonal seams. No big deal I thought, that's easily fixed. But closer inspection alamingly revealed not just one hole but a whole load of them scattered all over the quilt! Aargh!
The holes were only in the diagonal seams, but some of the quilting stitching was coming undone in places too, it looks as though the bobbin thread on the back has broken, which makes me think maybe it could be down to the machine rather than the thread (as I had used different brands for piecing and quilting).
Has anyone else ever had this problem? Is it a tension issue perhaps? I've not noticed this with any other quilts so am hoping it was just a temporary issue during the making of this one quilt, but I'd quite like to know what the problem was so I can hopefully avoid it in the future. I've stitched up the holes and will fix the quilting once I can lay my hands on the right thread. And keep my fingers crossed that the whole thing doesn't fall completely apart!
