1. Yesterday, J and I took a snow day. We only had about 2-3 inches here, not enough to close W's school (which he was most unimpressed by!) but I thought we should make the most of it and get out and enjoy the peacefulness of it all. And do a little sledging too, of course!
2. Since my last post, we've had a better time, home-ed wise. We went to the theatre last week (to see a Shakespeare for Children production of The Tempest - very good!) and we've been managing a bit more of the online curriculum, along with all the other, more fun stuff. Part of J's "Aspie-ness" is that he just wants to do what he wants to do - and most of the time that is playing (and most definitely not anything remotely "school-like"!) So I am spending quite a lot of time hunting down new, fun but educational activities. Today, for example, we had a go at a virtual owl pellet dissection! I just keep reminding myself that he is only 10 after all, and there will be plenty of time for more "serious" learning in the years to come.
3. I have started quilting the Mama Said Sew quilt!
My stitches could be a little more consistent, but I'm enjoying the process - plus it's lovely and cosy to sit under while I'm stitching and it's freezing cold outside!
