Hey y'all! I hope you're all enjoying the lovely summery weather (although it's a little too hot for me today and, after last nights epic thunderstorm, I'm feeling a little sleep deprived too!) We had a lovely little break at Centerparcs last week, the weather was a bit mixed but that was ok, we made full use of the pool and managed to fit in a couple of other activities too. It was nice to get away, but we did miss our Rufus! He had his own little holiday at Nanny's house, but was VERY happy to see us come home again!
I had been lucky enough to win, not one, but two giveaways just before we went away, so when we got home I had some very lovely parcels land on my post mat!
Karen's prize was the latest copy of Love Patchwork and Quilting, together with a bundle of beautiful fabric scraps from the stunning cover quilt that she made for the issue.
And then I also won Susan's giveaway of the beautiful sewing machine cover and accessories that she made for another issue of the same magazine! You would have had to be reading this blog for a very long time to remember the hideous thing that I botched together to cover my machine with (back when I had only just started sewing, it was one of the first things I made, and it showed!! And no, I'm not going to show you, it really was awful!) so it was with GREAT pleasure that I threw that one straight in the bin and put the lovely new cover on!
Doesn't she look pretty now?! And the other little goodies...
Gorgeous! I've been a long time reader of both these lovely ladies' blogs, so thank you both so much!
So, what else has been happening? Well, not much really. The chill out summer continues, most of the home ed activities have been winding down for the summer too, but J has recently started sailing at a local sailing club that runs disability sessions. He's only been twice so far, but really enjoyed it, and it continues through the summer, so I'm hoping that we can carry on, I really need to make an effort to get him into activities as he has a tendency to just want to stay home a lot. It would be really great for him to have something that he can do on his own - they are adamant that he will be sailing solo in no time!!
