A little mini quilt/mug rug type thing made today, in an attempt to kick start some creativity again. It's the first thing I've sewn in what feels like months - I think it's safe to say that my mojo for both blogging and sewing had gone well and truly awol. Add to that a rather stressful and emotional end to last year. Our little Rufus became very poorly, and most of December was spent in vets offices. I really thought we were going to lose him but, after various tests, a blood transfusion and an endoscopy, he got a diagnosis of inflammatory bowel disease. He has been on medication and a special diet for a few weeks now and things seem to be settling down - although we now have epilepsy to deal with as well, but we are hopeful that we can get it all under control. I cannot tell you how exhausting it has been, any of you with pets will know what an enormously important part of the family they are, and when they can't tell you what's wrong, and you can't explain to them either, it is absolutely heartbreaking. Luckily we have a fantastic vet (plus pet insurance!) and I am hoping we are over the worst now. So I am trying to get back to some kind of normality. A little difficult when we can't leave the dog alone (plus I don't have transport any more either, as my car was written off back in November!) but we are trying. And hopefully I can get back to a little bit of stitching here and there as well.
