On Friday I received a lovely parcel from Emma of Moo & Mouse. We had arranged to do a little private swap, making a spring themed mini quilt for each other, and this is what Emma sent to me.
As well as the mini quilt, she sent some fabric scraps, cute stickers, some socks with easter chicks on them and some sweet little wooden bunny decorations for my easter tree.
And here is the beautiful little mini quilt that Emma made for me! I love it, it's so sweet, the little bunnies in the centre are adorable!
And now, of course, I can show you what I made for Emma :-)
Emma had pinned an image of the little bee which I loved, so I traced it (straight from the screen!) and embroidered it for the centre. Once I'd done that, it was obvious to me that it had to be sitting on a hexagon, so I did a simple log cabin construction, followed by my first hexagonal binding - which happily wasn't any harder than a regular binding.
I really enjoyed making this little quilt for Emma and, although it didn't quite kick start my sewing mojo in the way I had hoped, I am looking forward to doing another mini swap with her in the Autumn/Winter.
