Hello! Thank you so much for all the birthday wishes. I had a lovely day, just chilling out at home and, even though William wasn't with us he was having such an amazing time on the boat that I didn't really mind. He had been on a Thames sailing barge and, although he said it was really hard work, he was absolutely buzzing with how much he enjoyed himself!
As promised, here are some of my pressies:-
my favourite perfume, a new wii game and a dvd (which I haven't watched yet - a few years back the trailer for this was enough to make me cry, so I'm saving it for a day when I can stay in on my own and not be disturbed!) The game, Just Dance 2, has been played a few times and is good fun - I'm hoping this will help me to get a bit more active and shift a bit of weight, as steps do need to be taken in that department!
In fact, on that subject, I'm going put myself out there and ask for a bit of support. Let me explain - several years ago I had to start taking medication for neuralgia (facial pain and permanent headaches) and, at the same time, I started to gain some weight. I'm now reducing the medication but the weight is refusing to shift - probably something to do with the fact that I take no exercise and eat far too many sweet things! I just had my thyroid function checked in case that was an issue but it's all normal so there will be no magic pill to fix it for me. Now, I'm not enormous (UK size 14, fairly average right?) but I could really do with losing a bit. The doc suggested slimming clubs but that's really not my bag so I thought maybe my blog buddies could help spur me on. I'm not going to make a big song and dance about this, but I thought that if I posted every week about how much I have (or haven't) lost and how much exercise I've done, then that might give me the push I need to actually put some effort into this. And maybe if there's one or two of you that would like to join in, we could all support each other? What do you reckon? I'll do it every Friday, starting next week, and then you can all tell me off if I've been a little piggy :)
Ok, back to the good stuff. Yesterday I received a lovely parcel in the post from Emma, part birthday gift and part thank you for the sewing machine mat I made for her.
And here's what was inside. (Ahh yes, that Galaxy isn't going to do the diet much good is it?! I shall have to save that to reward myself with!!) But there was also some scrummy vanilla scented soaps and, the best bit, a Bagladee original!
I'm sure there was more I was going to tell you, but I think I've gone on for long enough today, so it'll have to keep for now and I'll try and remember next week!
Have a great weekend
