Seriously. It is Driving. Me. Nuts!!! Basically it is running really, really slowly, and frequently just freezes up completely. It is making blog hopping a nightmare, as everything is taking about 10 times longer than it should, with much of that time spent with me just staring at the screen waiting for something to happen. AAArgh!! By the time I have finished reading blogs, I have lost all energy to actually blog myself. I think I need to re-prioritise a few things (is that actually a real word?) Like making sure that I write my own blog posts before I even think about looking at other people's. And maybe just biting the bullet and not spending so much time on the computer at all. Hmmm. My brother who is a bit of a computer whizz was here on Friday and took a look at it - we tested the internet speed and that was ok, we cleared about 2.5 years worth of temporary files off, and there is loads of free disc space so it's not that. He thinks maybe increasing the memory size might help, but he thinks there might be more to it, like some kind of virus, even though we have anti-virus software. It's all very, very tedious, but I need to try and sort it out as it is making me crazy!! So if I seem to disappear for a while, you'll know why that is.
Anyhoo, enough about that. We're just coming to the end of half term week. It's been typically very quiet here, mostly just mooching about at home, and there has been very little in the way of crafting too. I'm almost finished the turquoise/purple stripy socks, and I started knitting a dish/face cloth following a pattern found here, which was very easy, even though it required an enormous amount of concentration!
I managed to get a bit further on than the above photo, and then I dropped a stitch and completely screwed it up, so it got frogged and I will start it again once the kids are back at school and I have some peace and quiet in which to concentrate properly! Hopefully I'll be able to get on with some more of William's quilt too.
